Coming to the Big Apple? Why not take a scrumptious bite of the Apple and take it back home?
New York is a city of varied experiences. It offers different things to different people. There are many attractions here that you will never see anywhere else. So, here is a list of great places to visit in New York.
This is where it all began. More than 12 million immigrants entered the US from the Ellis Island in New York Harbor. The Statue of Liberty stands nearby. Ellis Island also has a museum that gives visitors an amazing glimpse into what it meant to come to America between the late 1890s and mid 1950’s. This island is a rare and astounding bird’s eye view into what America went through before it became what it is today.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art:
One of the best museums in the world. It’s impossible to take in everything in a single visit. You will see everything here, from the great Egyptians to American masters and works from Africa and Native America. If you can, try and visit here during the weekend. You can then enjoy a romantic break at the entrance and sip cocktails.
Madam Tussaud’s Museum:
This is a fun place to be. You can see life-sized wax replicas of your favorite world personalities and take back some pretty amazing pictures.
Top of The Rock at Rockefeller Center:
This is the multi-floor observation deck in Rockefeller Center that reopened in 2005 after renovation. If you want to see breathtaking views, this is a much better place than the Empire State Building. For one thing, long queues snake outside the Empire State Building. You need to stand in queue for buying tickets, buying tickets, getting into the lift and so on. In contrast, Top of the Rock has an online ticketing system. So, you simply need to turn up at your designated time and take the lift. The view is better too from Top of the Rock because it is better located to offer visitors an unobstructed view of the mighty city underneath. Top of the Rock also has a wonderful restaurant and the dining experience is one in a million.
The Statue of Liberty:
You cannot return from a visit to America without getting up close and personal with Lady Liberty. The statue is awe inspiring and attracts millions of visitors every year. It’s a treat for people who love to see beautiful things and is a greater treat for those who love history. Either way, you’re going to be floored by the sight that awaits you here.
The Cathedral of St. John the Divine:
This is the world’s largest Cathedral and is one of NYC’s unique attractions.
